At GeoAmmonia, we are pioneers in leveraging geothermal solutions to create green ammonia. Our commitment to innovation drives us to develop green practices that not only meet today’s energy demands but also protect the planet for future generations. We believe that through the power of geothermal energy, we can transform the way ammonia is produced, reducing carbon footprints and promoting a cleaner environment.
“In front of us is a chance to protect our climate, our food, our home.” Sir David Attenborough
GeoAmmonia is developing California's first commercial scale green ammonia facility in Lake County, powered 100% by renewable geothermal energy, eliminating the ~2.4 tCO₂/tonne carbon footprint of conventional ammonia production. Key milestones: May 2025 Letter of Intent with CALAMCO (California's leading agricultural ammonia cooperative) and April 2026 MOU with Ignis Energy/Mount Olive Geothermal for energy supply. The project aligns with DOE Clean Hydrogen Strategy, IRA §45V Clean Hydrogen Tax Credit, and USDA climate smart agriculture priorities. Currently advancing permitting, engineering, and project finance.
